Seven Days, Seven Snaps 10

Welcome to Life Captured. I’m thrilled to report that the daily photo challenge has officially unlocked a new routine for me. Taking a picture a day has transitioned from a task into a habit that I genuinely look forward to. It keeps me mindful and creative, as I’m always looking for that one special moment to capture. It’s incredibly fun to see where the day takes me and what that final picture will turn out to be. Here is a glimpse into my latest seven days and seven snaps!

Sunday- Aug 30, 2026

Oh, my sweetheart would definitely give me an earful if he knew I posted this picture! But then again, the man treats a camera lens like it’s a laser sight, so what else is new?

He really does work himself hard, which explains why he’s currently passed out cold in his beloved recliner. Ah yes, the legendary throne. A chair so ancient, faded, and structurally suspicious that it belongs in a museum, yet he defends it like a family heirloom and aggressively refuses to replace it. Sleep tight, my hardworking king of the recliner!

puzzle

The transportation department has a dedicated breakroom. We have a TV, microwave, refrigerator, two reclining sofas and puzzles! One table is used just for putting puzzle pieces together.

Tuesday- Sept 1, 2026

No cropping of the two images in the collage. I’m trying out the new 75mm lens I ordered. So far I’ve been impressed with the Shiftcam products.

Wednesday- Sept 2, 2026

Kevin planted watermelon in our garden. They look beautiful. Will sure grab a shot of one for next weeks 7days, 7snaps. What drew my attention was the price at the grocery store. We wouldn’t make a fortune, but homegrown watermelon is much sweeter!

Thursday- Sept 3, 2026

This picture popped up on my Google memories. This really brings back the day I took it. On our pond one early evening while our daughter and her family spent the day with me and Kevin. Peaceful. Calming.

Friday- Sept 4, 2026

spirea

My hometown has a lovely downtown area. Every time I visit Lawrence, I drive or walk the Main Street. So many beautiful things to see.

Saturday- Sept 5, 2026

Took a walk and found lights featured in a storefront window. Using the 75mm lens attachment, I snapped this shot.

Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by Life Captured and look through my latest week of picture journaling! Waking up every day to find that one perfect moment has become such a rewarding routine, and now that it is officially a habit, sharing it with you makes it even better. I can’t wait to see what unexpected stories the next seven days will bring. I’m so glad to have you along for this creative journey, and I look forward to seeing you right back here next week for the next round of snaps!

Yesterday is today’s memory.
Be sure to capture your memory today!

All the best,.

  1. Wow, that puzzle looks difficult. You have some great snaps this week. My husband pretty much falls asleep anytime he sits down… but he rarely seems to sit down until dinner/after dinner and then he’s definitely napping in his recliner too. I have pictures of him napping on Disney buses, in college seminars from our college tours, in airports and on airplanes… it’s kind of the family joke.

    • My husband comes home from his ‘day job’ at 4pm and then begins his farm duties. So by the time he is finished for the evening, it’s about 8pm. He goes to bed at 8:30. But he usually snoozes in his chair just after sitting down!
I knew from the day we married (and before) he would not be able to live in town. He enjoys the outdoors too much. If he’s not working the farm or tending cattle, he’s either hunting or fishing related activities. Hardly ever, in the house.
Thanks for stopping by, participating and commenting, Much appreciated.

  2. hahaha! That first photo did make me chuckle. His recliner sounds a lot like my armchair.
It looks like you are having fun trying out your new lenses.
Fruit is so expensive now, it’s no wonder that people prefer to eat junk food.

    • Yes, eating healthy is NOT cheap! 😳 Oh, my new lens are nice. As for all things, there are good and bad points. I’m beginning to see some of the not-so-good and working on my work arounds. They are still a game changer for me. I will be looking forward to the many differences these will make.
Thank you for visiting and participating!

    • Hi, Marsha. Thank you! Yes, I am having fun. However, some days I do find it a bit of a challenge to get ‘that’ pic. Today, I am driving the high school cross country team to Wagemo, KS- an hour and half from our school. I should be able to get a few here!📸
Oh, I was wondering if you were using a MacBook or PC?
      All the best.

  3. Chairs like that are the best kind! There’s just something about the cosiness of a chair so old that it has moulded to your shape.
That puzzle looks like a tricky one; I think I would have to give up on that one.
Your new lenses have captured some lovely photos this week.

    • Hi, Angela. I’ve been really impressed with the lenses. There’s only one thing I do not like and it’s not the manufacturers fault. When taking a picture and looking at the phone to frame the image, it’s hard to see the screen. It’s not like looking through the camera viewfinder. I’m trying to figure out some sort of workaround. Currently, I have a privacy screen protector on the phone. That in itself makes the screen look darker. I may need to take that off and replace with a regular screen protector.

  4. Exciting playing with new lenses. My husband’s the same – sits down and falls asleep. He also has a very old (and falling to pieces) chair that he won’t let me get rid of.

    • Hi, Emma. I have been really impressed with the lens and filters. The only draw back is, takes away from the simplicity and spontaneous picture taking. Maybe this will change. Right now I decide what I want to take a picture of, then prep the phone with the chosen lens.
Thanks for stopping by and have a fun weekend.
      All the best.

  5. The dedicated recliner. Love it. Best piece of furniture in the house. When young and the hubby worked 2nd shift, we would wait for him to get off work, and usually he’d find me or one of the boys asleep in his beloved recliner. Fun photo for sure and others are great. 🙂

  6. The photo of your husband napping made me smile. My husband can fall asleep almost anywhere and his work colleagues created a calendar last year of shots of him taking naps on various events which was very funny. How nice to have a breakroom table dedicated to putting puzzle pieces together. Homegrown watermelon sounds amazing. #project365

  7. A wonderful post. All of the photos are great and the one of your sleeping husband immediately made me imagine your face full of your love for him as you were taking a photo of him with all his defences down. Thank you for taking part in the “My Sunday Best” meme.
