Twirls of Fun

Hi. What an unexpected and delightful surprise! While browsing through my old Google Photos folder, the one that stubbornly refuses to sync with my cloud; I stumbled upon a little treasure trove from my Android days. I found so many wonderful memories I’d completely forgotten about. The video below is one of my favorites—a playful, joy-filled moment my daughter shared with me. I’ve made sure to back it up safely on my external hard drive so it stays with me for good!

Cloud storage is wonderfully convenient—it keeps everything within reach wherever you are. But those monthly subscription fees, whether a few dollars or closer to six and more, can quietly nibble away at your wallet over time.

I often catch myself wondering what would happen if those companies offering cloud storage suddenly vanished. Where would all my photos drift off to—lost in some digital abyss? Would I ever be able to retrieve them? The thought unsettled me enough that I decided to take matters into my own hands. I bought a compact external hard drive that plugs right into my phone, a tiny vault for my memories. Now it travels with me everywhere, tucked safely in my bag. Honestly, handbags are more than just accessories for me—they’re a lifeline to everything I want close at hand, from lip balm to entire photo archives

Have you ever stopped to think about digital cloud storage? Your photos, documents, and memories are floating safely in invisible space, just a click away. Will they be there 10 years from now? Tell me your thoughts.

Yesterday is today’s memory.
Be sure to capture your moment today!

All the best,.

    • Hi, Laura. Thank you for stopping by. I just had a freak moment, pictures mean so much to me. Cloud storage is good and I have a few of them, from amazon, google and one smaller company. Being a retired professional photographer, backing up is essential. I visited your Weekly Wisdoms 64. We had a Woolworths years ago. Never knew they were still going!
      Catcha later.

  1. I’m pretty old school in that every 2 months I upload all my photos (that I want to keep) to a place like Shutterfly and have prints made.

  2. I think I have everything backed up three times at least. I do really want an external hard drive though, just in case. The rest of my memories are in photo albums in drawers in my bedroom. I remember, in the days before digital I took a whole film of photos of my daughter’s second birthday and when I went to pick them up, they apologised profusely about damaging the film and hoped there wasn’t anything too important on it. I left the pharmacy crying. It’s weird how captured memories can mean so much to us.

    • Oh, my. That would be devastating, the film processor loosing your pictures. And what’s even hard to imagine these days, no one else would have had their camera’s there.

  3. Hummm… Good question Debbie. I haven’t really thought about it until you mentioned it. My pics are backed up and synced on Google. I’m going to have to give this more thought.
Visiting today from Talking About It Tuesday.
