Hi everyone, and welcome back to Life Captured! Have you ever visited Topeka, Kansas? Beyond being the state capital, it sits right at the geographic center of the lower 48 states. It’s also a city packed with incredible history. For instance, did you know that Topeka lawyer Harry Colmery actually drafted the Servicemen’s Readjustment Act of 1944 (better known as the G.I. Bill) right here? It’s pretty amazing to think about how much our State’s Capitol City shaped American history. CGSC Foundation

Now that summer break is here and I’m off school bus duty, I finally have the chance to soak up extra time with my granddaughters. And I am loving every minute of it. The other day, my youngest granddaughter and I headed into Topeka for a special lunch date. Our destination? The Pennant. Not only is the food great, but it’s packed with fun activities like bowling and vintage arcade games that the kids absolutely love!

Check out those nails! Normally, these stay at home, but Grandma let her keep them on for our special day out. We had such a fun time! It was the perfect little treat during a wonderful day of bonding.
What makes The Pennant even better is that it’s a completely unique local spot, not a chain restaurant. Do you have a favorite local place where you love to take your grandkids? Is it a favorite for you, too?
Yesterday is today’s memory.
Be sure to capture your memory today!
All the best,.
