Hi! We had such a wonderful family fun day at the HOAGBA Auction. I always treasure those rare moments when we’re all in the same place at the same time. It feels like the world slows down just for us. From the crisp, early morning until the golden light of late afternoon, we wandered up and down the aisles. We stopped to admire each animal waiting for its new home. The chatter of the crowd mixed with the soft chirps and clucks around us, creating that unmistakable fairground buzz. Out of everything we saw, the rabbits completely stole my granddaughter’s heart. She could hardly tear herself away from their twitching noses and soft ears.
Our youngest granddaughter really wanted a rabbit. In the picture above, her dad’s legendary response was simply, “Ask your mother.” I burst out laughing because if you know dads, that’s their classic way of saying “Sure, but you better get Mom’s permission first!” It’s like handing over the ball without actually throwing it—dad’s polite pass-the-buck move! So there she was, caught in the ultimate family negotiation: Dad setting the stage. Mom holding the final say. If this auction for approval had a bidding war, we’d all be outbid by good old parental teamwork—and one very determined little girl dreaming of fluffy ears and twitchy noses! 🙂
Mom said, “yes!”
One section of animals have found their new home. Rabbits with a few birds is all that is left.
In the video below, we just finished paying/signing in for the auction. We are walking through the poultry and waterfowl. The cart being pulled is carrying the animals that have already been auctioned off. Listen to how loud it was in the arena 🙂
Yesterday is today’s memory.
Be sure to capture your moment today!
Take care and best wishes.
Debra Ellen
It looks like you had a great time!
We had a fantastic time. Thank you for visiting. You are my ‘first online friend’! 🙂
Aw, I just love that you’ve captured her excitement so well.
It’s been a few days since she got the rabbit. I need to check in with the girls to see how they are getting along. Sure there will be some fun stories to be heard!
All the best,
Debra
