Welcome to Life Captured. I’m thrilled to report that the daily photo challenge has officially unlocked a new routine for me. Taking a picture a day has transitioned from a task into a habit that I genuinely look forward to. It keeps me mindful and creative, as I’m always looking for that one special moment to capture. It’s incredibly fun to see where the day takes me and what that final picture will turn out to be. Here is a glimpse into my latest seven days and seven snaps!
Sunday- Sept 20, 2026

Today my daughter and her family visited my parents, and Kevin, our son, and I joined them. Erika made ham and cheese sliders. It was my parents’ first time trying them, and they were a huge hit! It was such a fun Sunday with family. We had store-bought watermelon this time, unlike last Sunday when it came fresh from our garden.
Monday- Sept 21, 2026

I dropped by Lawrence to visit my parents and noticed they’ve basically adopted Adam’s dog at this point. Duty called for the little dog, so we went for a quick walk. You remember the local hoarding house across the street? Right by the road, there were these surprisingly pretty flowers growing out front. I couldn’t resist taking a bunch of photos, but I had to do it on extreme stealth mode so the neighbors didn’t think I was running reconnaissance on their hoard! 🤣😂

Look at this gorgeous view I’m seeing today! It was taken through the windshield, hence the glare on the left. I would have preferred being outside the bus to get a clear view. Seeing this picture, I will certainly remember the feeling I had the day I took the picture!
Wednesday- Sept 23, 2026

My breakfast! I’ve done something different to my scrambled eggs. These were made in the microwave. I used to add a bit of milk to the eggs. Always came out flat, not fluffy like some restaurants serve. Well, in place of the milk, I add a touch of heavy whipping cream. May not be WW friendly 🤣, but oh so good and they stay fluffy!
Red peppers, bacon bits and onions added to the eggs. I usually use 3 eggs and set to cook 2 minutes. Remove from microwave, stir and place back in for another 2 minutes.
Of course, gotta have some toast as well! With the toast, this is plenty for me and Kevin.
Thursday- Sept 24, 2026

This is the primary component of the bus’s security camera system, which records continuously whenever the bus is running. In my two and a half years of driving, management has needed to review the footage twice to address complaints filed against me by parents. Both times, the video proved my account of the events was accurate, as detailed in my post, ‘Mommy’s little treasure is the bus driver’s daily terror!‘. Each bus is equipped with three cameras that cover the front, middle, and back sections. This setup ensures protection for both the students and the driver.
Friday- Sept 25, 2026

Today I had a fun time driving students to a cider mill. In the park area was one of those bell towers you take a sledge hammer hitting the base to see how high you can make the steel ball rise. Hopefully high enough to ring the bell.

Two buses were needed to take the whole group. Malinda, driver for second bus, was willing to be in this picture with me!
She was the one to snap the two of me. I did not ring the bell. Close but no cigar 🤪

Saturday- Sept 26, 2026

It was a fantastic day for a photo walk, so I headed to the nearby college town of Lawrence, Kansas, to visit the University of Kansas Campanile. (Prenounced Cam-pan-ill-ee)
The bells chime every quarter-hour and can be heard across the entire campus as well as in nearby neighborhoods.
You can see the view here from inside looking up.
Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by Life Captured and look through my latest week of picture journaling! Waking up every day to find that one perfect moment has become such a rewarding routine, and now that it is officially a habit, sharing it with you makes it even better. I can’t wait to see what unexpected stories the next seven days will bring. I’m so glad to have you along for this creative journey, and I look forward to seeing you right back here next week for the next round of snaps!
Yesterday is today’s memory.
Be sure to capture your memory today!
All the best,.
Debra Ellen
