Welcome to Life Captured. I’m thrilled to report that the daily photo challenge has officially unlocked a new routine for me. Taking a picture a day has transitioned from a task into a habit that I genuinely look forward to. It keeps me mindful and creative, as I’m always looking for that one special moment to capture. It’s incredibly fun to see where the day takes me and what that final picture will turn out to be. Here is a glimpse into my latest seven days and seven snaps!
Sunday- Aug 2, 2026
Courtesy of the farm’s previous owners! These gorgeous pink flowers pop up every single year, and I’m so grateful. They smell amazing, look stunning, and bonus: pink is my absolute favorite color! 🌸
Monday- Aug 3, 2026
My Dixie girl, my little sweetie. Every morning I let Dixie out to potty and get a drink. She sure enjoys to be scratched behind her ears! Dixie is a working dog, so she doesn’t just roam the whole house. She has her room she stays in (in the AC). So when I take her out she’s frisky! We cuddle, a lot.. And what’s funny, dogs are like kids. Have you ever heard that? When I give her a command, she doesn’t always listen to me. However, when Kevin gives a command, she’s serious and does what’s told. Every. Single. Time. Just like my children when they were little. 🤣
Tuesday- Aug 4, 2026
This is the last field Kevin has to hay. Half has been cut. The tractor is parked in the back side of the field. You can see Kevin walking to the tractor. In back of the truck is a 400 gallon diesel tank. I drove the truck home and Kevin will bring the tractor home once cutting is finished to switch out the cutter for the rake. This field is back behind our fields. A neighbor asked Kevin to cut his. The bottom right image is me driving the truck. The pedal was a little too long to reach. I am not to move the seat. If I move it up, it won’t slide back. Good thing I didn’t have too far to drive!
Wednesday- Aug 5, 2026
Yesterday was my official day back to work for the 2026-2027 school year. The whole school staff meeting in the morning. Followed with our department’s transportation meeting. Here are some of us who attended.
Having the summer off (I did not drive for summer school) I sure missed these folks. It was great seeing them.
I made sure I had my selfie stick! 😂🤣
Thursday- Aug 6, 2026
Today I brought the bus I’ll be driving home. This is my company vehicle. It will be parked in my driveway until the end of the 2026/2027 school year.
Friday- Aug 7, 2026
Spent the day driving to Lawrence for a grocery run with Adam. The ride home along New Hampshire Street was too nice to rush through. Overcast skies and an 81°F breeze made for ideal weather. I made a split-second decision to park and stretch my legs. Go for a photowalk!

Saturday- Aug 8, 2026
Today we ate at the restaurant that serves huge portions! Both of us took half of our meals home for leftovers tomorrow! We will go for groceries in the morning. Since we went out to eat today, let’s see if I get surprised tomorrow!

I really admire you for driving a bus! Do you have a bus aide? I think some of the buses in the corporation here has one. There is at least one school system in Indiana that has decided to discontinue bus transportation due to legislature which greatly reduced school budgets. It scares me to see the little kids who live near me walking home alone. The large neighborhood behind us has lots of kids who are dropped off at two spots on the county road outside the neighborhood.

No bus aides for the regular routes. Which I think is unbelievable. At least for the newer bus drivers. Now that I have had the same route for my third year, the kids know my expectations and boundaries (limits) hahahah. Each year does get a bit easier. I drive the country routes, more gravel than blacktop. I drop kids off at end of their driveway.
