Seven Days, Seven Snaps 16

Welcome to Life Captured. I’m thrilled to report that the daily photo challenge has officially unlocked a new routine for me. Taking a picture a day has transitioned from a task into a habit that I genuinely look forward to. It keeps me mindful and creative, as I’m always looking for that one special moment to capture. It’s incredibly fun to see where the day takes me and what that final picture will turn out to be. Here is a glimpse into my latest seven days and seven snaps!

Olive Garden was recently opened in my area. These rocks were up against the building at the entrance. It’s a sea of rocks!

Adam and I went on a lunch date to Olive Garden! I originally invited my parents, but my mom declined and my dad decided to pass as well. Adam went with the Never-Ending Pasta Bowl, while I got the Never-Ending Soup & Salad. Olive Garden has definitely become one of my favorite spots to eat.

They have $6 take-home entrees, so I grabbed two to bring back for my parents. Our waitress was super nice and even let us box up the leftover salad and breadsticks. She even added a bowl of the chicken gnocchi soup at no extra cost 🤗. I’m so glad I ordered the extras. My parents really enjoyed the meal.

Today I drove the high school band to another band festival. The buses parked not too far from the football field. Not far from where we parked was this group of poles with each having a slight curve. I have no idea what these are. Someone thought it had to do with track. Have you ever seen something like this?

Safety revirew

The beginning of each new school year we are required to review several training videos. Today we covered abuse, mental instability (suicide) and homelessness.

Wednesday- Oct 14, 2026

This was a rarity for me. My youngest grand daughter is particular about the pictures she’s being photographed. When I brought the camera out, she did not react. So I took this picture while she was showing me the type of make up her parents allow her to wear: mascara, lip gloss (cherry flavored) and blush. She’s growing up too quick. 😔

sad bad dropped lens

Oh, sad, bad thing just happened. I had placed the mount plate to my iPhone per the instructions. After 72 hours for the glue to cure, the plate was ready to use. I attached my lens and set up for the shot. And then……. the plate popped off. Plate and lens fell to the concrete. My lens is dented (bad). I haven’t tried using the lens after the fall. I did contact the manufacturer to see how or what they could offer. Keeping my fingers crossed. 🤞

last home game marching band

Wrapped up the final home football game of the school year. I tried out the 240mm lens attached to my phone case, though I had to manage after the mounting plate snapped on Thursday. It was my first time taking non-macro shots with the 240, and I still need to hone my technique to get that sharp, crisp focus.

maple leaf

Today was a beautiful fall day. Here are four of us who drove the high school and middle school bands to the Maple Leaf festival. Perfect weather, tasty foods, delicious smells and a lot of walking. Sunday I woke up feeling completely refreshed and well-rested. 🖤
