Hi, everyone! Welcome to Life Captured. I just found a really useful app called Compress Photos that resizes images for mobile and web. Saving space on my web hosting is crucial for me, and this lets me process photos straight from my phone! Cutting out the extra step of sending images to my laptop for Photoshop will definitely speed up my blogging routine. My dad always said, “A little saved here and there adds up by the end of the month.” Running a small family restaurant taught me that lesson early. Over-serving ice cream or handing out extra napkins might seem minor, but those small costs eat away at your profits over time.
Compress Photos is free to use. Of course there are ads that pop up. The lifetime subscription is a low enough price for me, that I chose to get the pro version.
Here’s the tricky part. I do need to first size the image pixels I want to add to the site. Typically I use 683×900 pixels, using the app below. However this does not reduce the resolution.

Once I have sized my image (pixels or inches) using the Image Size, then I move to the second app. Compress Photos, will decrease the resolution. This app is the featured image above.
The app order:
- Image Size
- Compress Photos
- Upload to website
I use my laptop the majority of the time with PhotoShop my prime picture editing tool. It’s days like today (driving students on an activity trip), I will use my phone or tablet.
If you use your phone or tablet to create your posts and have found one app that can do both image size and reduce the image resolution, please share in the comments. Time saving apps is always appreciated!
Yesterday is today’s memory.
Be sure to capture your memory today!
All the best,.
