Hi, there. Welcome to Life Captured! I’m thrilled to report that my daily photo challenge has officially unlocked a brand-new routine: missing a day here, skipping a day there, and pretending it was all part of the artistic vision. What started as a strict “one photo every single day” rule has gracefully evolved into a flexible habit of “mostly remembering to press the shutter button.” It still keeps me mindful, creative, and on the hunt for special moments, even if those moments occasionally get delayed by 24 hours. Here is a glimpse into my latest seven days and (mostly) seven snaps!

This Martin house was taken with my iPhone. Each photo was taken from the same spot. The bottom image was with the same phone, but I added a 240mm lens!
Monday- Aug 24, 2026

My package arrived! I am excited. So pleased with the 240mm lens, I ordered two more lenses.
The two added to my collection is the 16mm and 75mm. Guess what’s planned tomorrow!

I can’t believe I’m actually posting this photo, but it’s literally the only one I snapped today. I took it to show my doctor the swelling around the base of my toes on my left foot with tattoo; though I definitely need to capture a better angle to show the full extent of it.
Here is the backstory: last year, the parking brake on my bus was acting up. To get it to work, I had to physically wedge my foot under the pedal and pull up using my toes. I brought up the issue to the maintenance department, but they completely blew it off. It wasn’t until the bus went in for a routine oil check that I brought it up to the actual mechanic, who confirmed that it was way out of adjustment and fixed it right away.
Unfortunately, my foot is still causing me pain and discomfort. It’s definitely not broken, and it’s had more than three months to heal, so I’m seriously considering a visit to a chiropractor to see if a joint or bone got pulled out of alignment.

Behold: the majestic, highly anticipated view down our driveway.
I was obligated to produce a photograph today, and since planning ahead clearly isn’t in my skill tree, the driveway won the high-stakes lottery. Bask in its unprepared glory!

This is the newest person added to the transportation department. I began a project mainly to help myself. When I started driving the bus, I knew no one. Not too many of the drivers utilize our break room. My project was to take all the driver’s and para’s pictures and place onto the bulletin board with names. It was a success. Now the newbies come to me for their ‘mug’ shots! 😂

The Brain, also known as my son, heir to my Wi-Fi password, and master of dramatic assumptions, was convinced I was deliberately giving him the cold shoulder. In his mind, I had clearly staged a silent protest, initiated a covert ops mission to ignore his calls, or simply vanished into thin air to avoid discussing whatever non-urgent emergency was on his mind.
The reality? Absolutely zero espionage involved. My phone was simply sitting peacefully upstairs on its charger, completely unaware of the family crisis brewing.
Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by Life Captured and look through my latest week of picture journaling! Waking up every day to find that one perfect moment has become such a rewarding routine, and now that it is officially a habit, sharing it with you makes it even better. I can’t wait to see what unexpected stories the next seven days will bring. I’m so glad to have you along for this creative journey, and I look forward to seeing you right back here next week for the next round of snaps!
Yesterday is today’s memory.
Be sure to capture your memory today!
All the best,.
Debra Ellen
