Hi, there. What started as a simple daily photo challenge has officially turned into my favorite new routine! Taking a picture every day isn’t something I have to remember to do anymore. It’s just a habit I genuinely look forward to. It keeps me present and creative, always on the lookout for that one special moment. Sunday- July 26, 2026
Visited my parents. Today, I decided to take a walk. This time I went in the opposite direction from the hoarders home. At the dead end there is a wooded area. These three images were taken on that walk.

Went for another walk today. I thought this looked really cool. Not sure what it is, but still neat.
Tuesday- July 28, 2026
I spent the whole day indoors and was completely stuck on what to photograph. But the second I stepped outside, I got lucky. The cattle were grazing right along our driveway fence. As I approached closer, the first thing I noticed was the loud, rhythmic crunch of them munching on the grass. I love this shot because it caught the lead steer mid-tail-swat; flies are a constant nuisance for the herd, drawn in by the natural warmth and moisture livestock provide for breeding and feeding.

Walking the farm more often has given me a new appreciation for the random extras we have lying around, like these extra gate panels. In person, they’re nothing special, but through the lens, they really stand out. It brought back memories of doing portrait sessions. People would look at a location doubtfully, but I’d remind them that a camera only sees a small frame of the whole scene. With just a hint of landscape around them, the gates look surprisingly great here.
While visiting my parents today, mom had a delivery of her oxygen. She was diagnosed with COPD.
If you smoke, my mom would advise you to quit. That one day you’d be sorry.

Inspiration strikes in the unlikeliest places. While filling up the car at the convenience store today, I noticed this stack of wood. The texture was way too good to pass up, so I snapped a photo to use as a texture overlay in Photoshop.

Spent the day editing my niece’s family images. Remember Daisy? She was such a doll during this photo session.
Saturday- August 1, 2026
Teamwork on the farm today! Kevin’s main hay rake frame busted right in the middle of cutting hay. While it’s at the shop being welded, he picked up a second one so we could keep the season moving. Now we’ve got a solid backup for the future.
He asked for an extra set of hands today, so we got to work. Kevin did the heavy lifting to line up the rake while I dropped in the bolts, washers, and nuts, and he torqued everything down. Six nuts, six bolts, and six washers per rake later, we’re ready to hook up to the tractor and finish the job! 🚜
