Small Town Drama: A Month Later

Hi, welcome back to Life Captured! A month has passed since that house fire, and I know many of you were wondering if the property had been cleared yet. I drove by the other day and was shocked to see it’s still standing.

Nature hasn’t been kind to it, either. The heavy rains this past month have really sped up the deterioration. The featured image shows you exactly what it looks like today. For those following along, you can revisit my original Small Town Drama post to compare the ‘then’ and ‘now’ images. It’s a mess that’s only getting messier.

During my first trip here, I was so focused on the charred remains of the main house that I missed the bigger picture. Today, I looked a little closer at the surroundings and noticed the damage has actually spread. The house right next door has experienced significant damage to its siding. I’ve put together a collage below so you can see the impact for yourself.

The house next door affected by the fire as well.
Collateral Damage

Yesterday is today’s memory.
Be sure to capture your memory today!

All the best,.

  1. We have one like that near us.. it was rumored that there was a meth lab in the garage that blew the whole house. Sadly, in our case one person died and last I knew the other was in critical condition (but that was over a year ago and I don’t know whether he died or is in jail or what) but the remains of the house and yard are just a mess.

    • Oh, I never even considered the house would not be leveled. What an eye sore if it remains.
I appreciate your visit. Looking forward to seeing your vacations photos!
      All the best.
