Goats Are Lovable Too!

Hi, there! What started as a quick errand turned into something I didn’t know I needed.

I stopped by a friend’s house so she could put a fresh cover on one of my school bus seats. Simple enough. But while I was there, she and her son were out working with the goats — and somehow I ended up right in the middle of it.

I watched them milk the goats. I watched them feed the goats. I stood there in my friend’s yard on a perfectly ordinary weekday and thought: this is not what I expected today to look like.

It was quiet and unhurried and a little bit wonderful.

That’s the thing about just showing up somewhere. You never quite know what you’re going to walk into.

Turns out goats are just as lovable as cows. I did not expect to leave my friend’s house feeling this way about a goat. And yet. Don’t take my word for it — watch this and try not to smile. 🙂

Goats are lovable too!!

I should mention — the goats don’t go unprotected.

My friend has guardian dogs. One dog per pen, each one assigned to its own little herd. Five pens, five dogs. It’s a whole system, and every dog takes their job very seriously.

I managed to get a photo of two — meet Lilly.

  1. How adorable! my son certainly loves goats. There is nothing better than being near animals in nature.

So happy to have found your linky too.

  2. They absolutely are! Although there can be mean and stubborn ones, too. The only “problem” I ever had with a goat at our zoo where I volunteered was one who really had it in for me. He was a dwarf goat, but so strong that he kept making me prisoner in corners 😉
    Those are beautiful dogs!
